Introduction

Murals.ng was commissioned by Albergo Hotels, a commercial establishment in Lekki, Lagos, to create custom murals and framed art pieces for various parts of the hotel. Albergo Hotels aimed to create an immersive atmosphere, using artistic elements that complement its high-class, contemporary design to enhance the guest experience and Murals.ng was up to the task.

Concept Development 

Albergo Hotel sought to establish a sophisticated atmosphere with Pan-African Futurism designs that reflects modern elegance and luxury. Our team engaged in a comprehensive consultation process with the client, who was particularly impressed by our previous project for the House of Representatives in Abuja. Inspired by the hotel’s aesthetic, our CEO presented a range of art samples that combined classical themes and Pan-African Futurism with contemporary flair, setting the stage for a unique visual narrative.

Design Process

The design phase which took a period of 3 weeks involved careful planning and collaboration. We focused on creating pieces that would not only beautify the space but also tell a story. For instance the classical sculpture mural embodies grace and sophistication with its intricate details, flowing hair, and soft shadows that mimic the texture of marble. The figure’s posture and expression exude calmness, creating a contemplative atmosphere.

In contrast, the Ragnar Lothbrok portrait uses bold colors and expressive lines to capture raw strength and character, blending history and modernity in a strikingly vibrant way that commands attention. Both pieces, among many others work together to elevate the space, encouraging guests to engage with their visual narrative. The arrangement style was deliberately chosen to create visual interest and spark conversations among guests.

Execution 

After the design process, the murals and framed art pieces were printed and our production team carried out an extensive quality control test to ensure that the prints were up to par with our standards. Our team made sure that each mural was properly integrated into the hotel’s architecture. The installation included multiple striking black-and-white murals of classical sculptures that serve as the focal points in their spaces, drawing guests in with their depth among other captivating murals and framed art pieces. The contrasting, colorful pieces were strategically placed in lounges and hallways to enhance the overall feel, inviting guests to explore and appreciate the art. Every detail was considered to ensure that the installations aligned with the hotel’s aesthetic.
